Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, David McCurdy graduated from the University of Illinois with B.A. and J.D. degrees. David came to Cadillac, Michigan in 1974 to practice law with Donald C. Samardich, who is now Of Counsel for McCurdy Wotila & Porteous law firm. Donald and David began Lakeside Title together; when Donald left the firm, David took on the majority of day to day work. His primary responsibilities include reviewing risk, reviewing closing statements, and making financial decisions. David's areas of primary practice are estate planning, trust administration, probate, business and corporate, real estate, and municipal law. Martindale-Hubbell consistently awards David McCurdy an "A" rating.

Married with three children, David enjoys tennis, golf, skiing, canoeing, and backpacking. He is involved with the community as a volunteer for many endeavors and has served on the boards of many community organizations.
